Filipino pop-rock favorites The Itchyworms are taking OPM to New Zealand this September with the Akin Ka Na Lang New Zealand Tour 2026, bringing their signature blend of witty songwriting, infectious guitar-pop melodies, and anthemic hits to four cities.
The band will perform in Auckland, Wellington, Queenstown, and Christchurch, giving Filipino audiences overseas an opportunity to reconnect with home through music while introducing New Zealand listeners to the energy and character of Original Pilipino Music.
For frontman Jugs Jugueta, the tour is a chance to reconnect with Filipino communities while sharing more of what Filipino culture has to offer.
“It’s very humbling. It’s really great that the world is now discovering all things Filipino,” Jugueta shares.
He also encourages Filipino fans to bring their Kiwi friends and family to the shows, adding, “We can show them how Filipinos party!”
Meanwhile, drummer and vocalist Jazz Nicolas points to the band’s ability to combine relatable storytelling with catchy melodies as part of what makes their music accessible to different generations and audiences.
“It’s like hiding medicine in chocolate,” Nicolas says, describing the band’s approach of placing “petty or tragic lyrics inside a catchy pop melody.”

Tickets are priced at $99 NZD for Standing VIP, which includes a photo opportunity, and $69 NZD for Standing General Admission.
The New Zealand tour adds another chapter to The Itchyworms’ journey of bringing OPM beyond Philippine shores, proving that Filipino music can connect with audiences wherever they are.
