For me, that restaurant is Jasmine at New World Makati Hotel.
Jasmine has recently unveiled its refreshed à la carte menu, bringing together authentic Chinese flavors, familiar favorites, and creative new dishes. As someone who grew up loving Chinese food and has always had a strong connection to my Chinese roots, I was excited to experience the new selection.
For me, Chinese food is more than just a meal. It brings back memories of family gatherings, celebrations, Sunday lunches, and long conversations around a table filled with dishes meant to be shared.
That is what I love about Jasmine. It feels familiar. It feels comforting. It feels like home.
A Fresh Take on the Jasmine Menu
The refreshed menu offers a generous selection of appetizers, dim sum, mains, and desserts, combining traditional Chinese cooking with contemporary touches.

What I particularly enjoyed about the new menu is how it stays rooted in traditional flavors while giving some dishes a fresh, modern touch.
The Crispy Bean Curd with Salt and Pepper is simple but satisfying, while the Chinese-Style Scrambled Egg with Scallop and Tomato has that comforting quality I associate with good Chinese home cooking.
The Pork Belly and Liver Sausage Fried Rice with X.O. Sauce is rich, savory, and definitely made for sharing. Meanwhile, the dim sum selection adds a creative touch with choices such as the Seafood Lobster Dumpling, Salmon and Asparagus Dumpling, and Mushroom and Truffle Dumpling.
And of course, dessert brings a little fun to the table, especially the adorable Steamed Creamy Cheese Piggy Bun.

What keeps me coming back to Jasmine is not just the food. It is the whole experience.
The service is excellent. The staff are warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Whether you’re having a family meal, catching up with friends, or meeting someone for business, there is a comfortable and relaxed feeling throughout the dining experience.
I also appreciate that Jasmine offers this level of food and service at a reasonable price. Located at New World Makati Hotel, you get the quality, generous portions, attentive service, and elegant setting you would expect from a hotel restaurant, while still feeling that every peso is well spent.

Perhaps this is why Jasmine has become one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Makati.
Authentic Chinese food has a way of bringing people together. It connects us to our families, our traditions, and our roots.
Jasmine feels like an extension of our home—only here, someone else is doing the cooking!
And with the introduction of its refreshed menu, there are even more reasons to gather around the table, try something new, and enjoy the flavors that remind us of home.
For me, that’s what makes a restaurant memorable.
