Just a short boat ride from Davao City, the Island Garden City of Samal is gaining attention as a destination where tourism, infrastructure, and property development are beginning to converge.
Samal recorded 921,748 verified tourist arrivals in 2024, its highest figure on official record and a significant step toward one million annual visitors. Infrastructure Opens New Possibilities
Samal’s growth is also being supported by infrastructure developments. The Samal Island–Davao City Connector Bridge, targeted for completion in 2028, is expected to improve accessibility between the island and Davao City. Meanwhile, Davao Light’s Submarine Cable Project is strengthening Samal’s energy infrastructure to support its growing tourism and commercial activity.
