Mindanao is gaining momentum as an attractive destination for investors, supported by expanding industries, growing trade activity, and resilient regional economies. In 2025, the region’s economy grew by 4.69%, exceeding the Philippines’ overall growth rate of 4.40%.

The Davao Region, Mindanao’s key economic driver and the country’s fifth-largest regional economy, recorded a gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of ₱1.14 trillion in 2025. These figures reflect the region’s growing potential to attract businesses looking to establish long-term operations and participate in global value chains.

Contributing to this growth is Anflo Industrial Estate (AIE), developed by Damosa Land, Inc. (DLI). The industrial estate currently hosts 24 operational locators, with 70% engaged in export-oriented manufacturing. Among its notable locators are HEAD Sport, Novococonut, Inc., and GMAC Logitech Refrigeration Corporation (GMAC).

HEAD Sport operates the world’s largest tennis ball manufacturing facility at AIE, producing approximately 3 million dozen tennis balls annually for international markets. Its presence highlights the Philippines’ capabilities in specialized manufacturing and its access to skilled talent and strategic supply chains.

Meanwhile, Novococonut leverages Mindanao’s strong coconut industry to produce value-added, export-ready food products, strengthening connections between local agricultural producers and global markets.

AIE is also home to GMAC’s cold storage facility, which has nearly 12,000 pallet positions, supporting food, agriculture, logistics, and export industries across Mindanao.

Beyond its locators, AIE continues to expand its infrastructure. Davao Light recently inaugurated its first 10 MVA substation at the estate, with an additional 33 MVA planned for the second phase. A water treatment plant by Manila Water Philippine Ventures is also expected to provide 1,300 cubic meters of treated water daily.

“Anflo Industrial Estate is positioned to provide long-term growth potential while capitalizing on Mindanao’s unique economic strengths,” said DLI President Ricardo Floirendo Lagdameo. “As companies continue to diversify their manufacturing footprint, we see growing opportunities for the region to become an integral part of global value chains.”
