Filipino educators are stepping into the future of teaching through “AI for All,” a transformative bootcamp by the PLDT Group and the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Nueva Ecija. The program helps teachers discover how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can make education smarter, simpler, and more impactful — from lesson planning to classroom management.

Held in celebration of National Teachers’ Month, the bootcamp gathered teachers across Nueva Ecija and livestreamed sessions to Cagayan de Oro, extending digital learning opportunities to Mindanao. “Our teachers need to grow with the evolving education landscape,” said Dr. Danilo M. Jacoba, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent at DepEd Nueva Ecija. “Learning about technologies like AI helps them reimagine how they teach and manage their classes.”

Participants explored AI-powered applications that create dynamic lessons, analyze student data, and automate administrative work. “AI is especially helpful in preparing lesson plans for instructors who are not Education graduates like me,” shared Rose Mary Dominique F. Ganiban of Muñoz National High School. Meanwhile, Allan H. Guibone from Bugo Central School noted how AI can detect learning gaps early—allowing teachers to focus on nurturing higher-order thinking.

Teachers also learned how to use generative AI to create visuals and presentations. “It was my first time using AI to design a presentation deck that looked polished and engaging,” said Berlin D. Ramos of Talavera Senior High School.

“As a technology champion, PLDT continues to leverage digital innovation to improve lives—this time, in education,” said Stephanie V. Orlino, AVP and Head of Stakeholder Engagement at PLDT and Smart.

Aligned with DepEd’s priorities under Secretary Juan Edgardo ‘Sonny’ Angara, the AI for All program underscores PLDT’s commitment to Quality Education (UN SDG No. 4) and advancing digital literacy for all.
