DID YOU KNOW? The MICHELIN Guide began not with fine dining—but with tyres. In 1889, brothers André and Édouard Michelin wanted to encourage travel when France had fewer than 3,000 cars. Their solution? A small red book filled with maps, fuel stops, and food listings to inspire people to hit the road. But one fateful day, André found his free guides being used to prop up a workbench. Offended yet inspired, he decided to sell them—proving his belief that “man only truly respects what he pays for.” And so began the evolution of the world’s most prestigious dining guide, which awarded its first stars in 1926. It literally fueled the world’s appetite for exploration. Now, the Philippines proudly joins this storied legacy. On October 30, 2025, at the Marriott Manila Hotel, the MICHELIN Guide held its inaugural event in the Philippines, unveiling the nation’s first-ever MICHELIN-starred, Green Star, and Bib Gourmand restaurants—a historic celebration of Filipino creativity, craftsmanship, and culinary pride across Manila and Environs and Cebu. 2026 MICHELIN Guide Philippines Highlights 108 total establishments across Manila and Environs & Cebu
