Shell Lubricants has secured its position as the world’s leading supplier of finished lubricants for 19 consecutive years, according to the 23rd edition of Kline & Company’s Global Lubricants: Market Analysis and Assessment 2025. The report ranks Shell #1 based on global sales volumes across automotive and industrial segments, with a market share of 11.6%. In 2024, sales were split almost evenly among consumer automotive (37%), industrial (32%), and commercial automotive (31%).

Shell maintained its top spot across all categories, from consumer and commercial automotive to industrial lubricants, thanks to a consistent strategy of investing in premium, high-performance products and nurturing long-term customer relationships. “At nineteen consecutive years of leadership, we remain focused on the ability of lubricants to power progress across consumer, commercial, and industrial applications,” said Jason Wong, Global Executive Vice President, Shell Lubricants.

The company’s portfolio includes trusted brands such as Shell Advance motorcycle oil, Shell Helix passenger car motor oil, Shell Rimula truck oils, and Shell Tellus and Gadus for industrial use. In 2025, Shell Helix Ultra upgraded to the latest API SQ specifications, and Shell Advance Ultra achieved API SP certification, earning global trust as a premium motorcycle oil recommended by Ducati Corse. Shell also renewed its decade-long partnership with BMW M Motorsport, highlighting its commitment to cutting-edge technology.

Beyond automotive, Shell is breaking ground in digital infrastructure with DLC Fluid S3, a Direct Liquid Cooling solution for high-performance computing. Its immersion cooling fluids became the first in the industry to receive Intel certification, enabling global use in data centers.
