Taytay’s renowned garment and woodcraft products are now more accessible to shoppers nationwide through the launch of the Made in Taytay app, a new digital marketplace developed by PLDT Enterprise, Multisys Technologies Corporation, and the local government of Taytay, Rizal.
The initiative aims to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) expand beyond traditional brick-and-mortar markets by providing an online platform where locally made products can be discovered and purchased anytime, anywhere.
Created in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the app showcases Taytay’s signature clothing, handcrafted products, and other locally made goods, bringing one of the country’s largest garment hubs closer to consumers across the Philippines.
Digital marketplace opens new opportunities for local entrepreneurs
Among the early adopters is Rikishee RTW Store owner Desserie Valdizno, who sees the platform as an opportunity to introduce Taytay-made products to a wider audience.
“The beauty of this app is that it is not just proudly Pinoy—the items for sale are really Made in Taytay,” Valdizno said.
“It also has a lot of special features. For example, you can pick up goods at the physical store in the Taytay Tiangge via the Logistics Hub. Plus, whatever product you see online, you can also see in person because you can contact and trace the seller while still shopping online,” she added.
Supporting MSMEs through digital transformation
PLDT Enterprise said the initiative reflects its commitment to empowering Filipino MSMEs by providing them with digital tools that support business growth and long-term sustainability.
“In a country where more than 90% of businesses can be considered MSMEs, supporting them by helping them scale and access more opportunities through technology forms a big part of nation-building,” said Blums Pineda, Senior Vice President and Head of PLDT Enterprise.
“We are spurred to action by our Chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan, who himself believes that there are no small businessmen, just small businesses. This is precisely why we are in Taytay. By providing this platform for growth, we empower our local entrepreneurs to reach more customers and grow sustainably,” he added.
To strengthen the digital ecosystem, PLDT Enterprise also installed internet connectivity across Taytay’s tiangge centers, enabling vendors to stay connected while managing their online storefronts.
The platform supports digital payment methods, including e-wallets, while also offering built-in tools for inventory management, basic accounting, and order tracking to help merchants streamline daily operations.
Expanding digital opportunities for local industries
According to Vic Tria, FVP and Head of Enterprise Domestic Business and SME at PLDT Enterprise and CEO and President of Multisys, the collaboration demonstrates how technology can help elevate local industries.
“This is proof of what we can do when we move together. Multisys is proud to be part of this effort to showcase the talents and the craftsmanship of our Taytay entrepreneurs and bring them closer to more customers through the Taytay app,” Tria said.
The Made in Taytay initiative forms part of PLDT Enterprise’s broader efforts to accelerate digital transformation among MSMEs nationwide. The company said it is exploring similar partnerships in other local communities to help strengthen regional industries, expand market access, and build a more inclusive digital economy.
