FedEx Philippines partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to deliver the FedEx Masterclass, equipping Philippine textile micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with practical knowledge to expand their global reach. The learning series welcomed 33 local businesses, providing insights on international shipping, logistics, and trade processes.

Participants gained hands-on guidance in import and export fundamentals, including preparing air waybills, meeting document requirements, properly packing textile shipments, and tracking deliveries. Leveraging its global logistics expertise, FedEx helped MSMEs understand how to navigate cross-border trade efficiently, making international business more accessible for even the smallest enterprises.

Textiles remain a vital part of the Philippine economy. In 2024, the country exported USD 892 million worth of textiles, ranking 13th among all export categories, with major destinations including the United States, Japan, China, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. Imports totaled USD 2.18 billion, primarily from China, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.

“Our collaboration with DTI amplifies our ability to support Filipino businesses,” said Maribeth Espinosa, Managing Director of FedEx Philippines. “By sharing our logistics expertise and global network, we make international trade simpler and more accessible. This goes beyond delivering shipments—it is about opening avenues, nurturing ambitions, and helping even the smallest businesses grow beyond borders.”

FedEx has a long-standing commitment to enabling Filipino MSMEs to seize global trade opportunities. The FedEx Masterclass marks another step in the company’s mission to foster inclusive economic growth while turning the promise of international commerce into real progress for local businesses.
