Following the recent 6.9-magnitude earthquake in northern Cebu, leading universal exchange platform Bitget extended immediate support to affected communities by donating ₱100,000 worth of relief goods. In partnership with The Ascent Project, the relief drive provided food packs and hygiene kits to 118 residents in Bogo City and San Remigio, areas heavily impacted by the disaster.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen highlighted the importance of community and teamwork, reflecting the Filipino spirit of kabayanihan. “My heart goes out to those struggling during this difficult time. Our Cebu community has always stood with those in need, and we hope to continue supporting and building trust,” Chen said.

The relief operation, which took place on November 2, was coordinated through Bitget’s local trading community, one of the company’s longest-standing grassroots groups in Southeast Asia. Chen emphasized that Bitget remains committed to making a tangible impact beyond trading, responding directly to urgent needs where its communities need it most.

This initiative aligns with Bitget’s global impact strategy, which includes long-term partnerships such as its collaboration with UNICEF, aiming to expand digital and blockchain education to over 1 million young people by 2027. As recovery efforts continue in northern Cebu, Bitget and its Philippine community partners are exploring additional ways to provide assistance and support rebuilding initiatives.

“We have always been more than just a crypto exchange platform. This effort reflects our approach of working directly with user communities to identify urgent needs and provide timely support,” Chen added.
