Global hospitality group Accor is strengthening its presence across Asia, reporting 30 new hotel signings year to date, representing 7,698 rooms across 12 countries. The expansion spans established and emerging destinations, reflecting changing travel demand and growing opportunities for hotel owners while reinforcing Accor’s commitment to the region.

The midscale segment has been a major contributor to the Group’s development activity, accounting for approximately 49% of signed rooms. This represents 16 hotels and more than 3,600 rooms across TRIBE, Mercure, Novotel, and Handwritten Collection.

The premium segment added seven hotels and more than 2,200 rooms, led by Mövenpick, while the economy segment recorded five hotels and 1,200 rooms, led by ibis Styles. In the luxury and lifestyle categories, Accor signed two hotels representing 583 rooms across brands including Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Emblems, MGallery, Delano, SLS, 25hours, and Rixos.

Introducing New Brands For A New Generation Of Travellers

Accor is also expanding its brand offerings to respond to evolving traveller preferences. In 2026, the Group welcomed its first greet hotel in Asia, bringing its lifestyle-led economy concept to Bangkok. Designed for value-conscious travellers, the brand adds another option to Accor’s growing regional portfolio.

The Group is also preparing to introduce JO&JOE, its redefined hostel experience brand, to Asia in the future, further broadening its offerings for younger and experience-driven travellers.

Indonesia And Vietnam Lead Regional Growth

Among Accor’s markets in Asia, Indonesia recorded the highest number of development signings this year, with 13 hotels and more than 2,800 rooms across Jakarta, Bali, Batam, and Yogyakarta.

Vietnam also emerged as a key growth market, with six hotels and more than 2,600 rooms signed across Danang and Phu Quoc. The developments underscore the country’s growing importance in Accor’s regional expansion strategy.

Franchising is gaining momentum across Asia as hotel owners seek flexible development options and access to an established international hospitality platform. Markets such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore are seeing growing interest, while Accor became the first international hospitality group to register its brands for franchising in Vietnam.

Conversion-friendly brands such as Mercure, Handwritten Collection, ibis Styles, and Mövenpick are also attracting owners looking to reposition existing properties while benefiting from Accor’s global distribution network, internationally recognized brands, and ALL Accor booking and loyalty platform.

Branded Residences Expand Across Asia

Beyond traditional hotels, Accor is seeing growing interest in branded residences and mixed-use developments through Accor One Living, its dedicated platform for creating residential communities connected to the Group’s hospitality brands.

Recent projects announced over the past 12 months include Raffles Residences Bali in Indonesia, SLS Residences Phuket Kamala and SLS Residences Bangkok Sukhumvit 24 in Thailand, and Mercure Living Genting Highlands in Malaysia, which is scheduled to open in 2028.

These developments reflect the growing appeal of combining residential living with the services, experiences, and recognition associated with established hospitality brands.

“2026 is shaping up to be another record year for Accor’s development in Asia, with our signings on track to deliver a fourth consecutive year of record growth in the region,” said Andrew Langdon, Accor’s Chief Development Officer for Asia. He noted that more owners are recognizing the value of joining a hospitality platform that combines internationally recognized brands, global distribution, and ALL Accor to support revenue growth and long-term asset performance.

With a portfolio spanning luxury, lifestyle, premium, midscale, and economy hospitality, Accor continues to pursue opportunities across established destinations and emerging markets. Its expanding range of brands, flexible development models, and global loyalty and distribution platforms position the Group to respond to the changing needs of travellers and hotel owners throughout Asia.
