The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is putting Filipino creativity in the spotlight through the ASEAN Creative Industries Expo by Malikhaing Pinoy (ASEAN MPEx), a three-day event bringing together creative talent, businesses, and regional opportunities from September 17 to 19 at the SMX Convention Center Aura in Taguig City.
Organized in collaboration with the Philippine Creative Industries Development Council Secretariat, the expo is part of the government’s flagship Malikhaing Pinoy Program, which aims to strengthen the country’s creative economy while celebrating its cultural heritage. This year’s theme, “Navigating Our Future Through Creativity, Together,” also aligns with the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship in 2026 and its focus on inclusive economic growth, cross-border investment, and cultural exchange.
Connecting Filipino Creativity With Regional Opportunities
Held during Philippine Creative Industries Month and guided by the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act, ASEAN MPEx builds on the momentum of its 2025 edition through three calls to action: Connect, Showcase, and Create.
The expo highlights nine creative domains, including audiovisual media, creative services, cultural sites, digital interactive media, design, performing arts, publishing and printed media, traditional cultural expressions, and visual arts.
A Platform For Creative Enterprises
Visitors can explore the Government and Business Development Services Pavilion, offering entrepreneurs access to trade and intellectual property services. The ASEAN Malikhaing Pinoy Pavilion provides a digital interactive look at creative initiatives across the region, while the Coconut Industry Pavilion demonstrates how design and creativity can bring new possibilities to traditional industries.
The event also features a gastronomy showcase highlighting Iloilo, a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, alongside a special presentation on the Philippines’ participation in Expo 2025 Osaka.
As the Philippines works toward becoming Asia’s Premier Creative Hub by 2030, ASEAN MPEx aims to connect local talent and enterprises with regional markets while creating opportunities for innovation, investment, and sustainable growth.
