As AI agents take on increasingly complex tasks across the workplace, Salesforce is introducing its Enterprise AI Harness, a new architecture designed to help businesses deploy AI reliably, securely, and at scale.
The Enterprise AI Harness brings together the capabilities agents need to understand business context, reason and plan, take action, and operate within enterprise security and governance controls. It combines six trusted capabilities—Context, Agency, Action, Governance, Security, and Models—through a common, composable architecture built around the data, processes, relationships, and controls companies already use.
The system is designed to address a common challenge in enterprise AI: a single business question can require information from multiple systems. For example, determining whether an order can be fulfilled may require customer data from CRM, inventory information from ERP, contractual commitments, analytics, previous interactions, and business policies.
Rather than simply connecting these systems, the Enterprise AI Harness aims to give agents the context needed to understand the situation, determine the appropriate action, execute it securely, and follow established business rules.
Six Capabilities For Trusted AI
Trusted Context brings together data, metadata, knowledge, real-time signals, memory, and business processes to give AI a shared understanding of the organization.
Trusted Agency provides agents with reasoning, planning, memory, collaboration, and orchestration capabilities, while allowing deterministic controls where certainty is required.
Trusted Action connects AI to applications, APIs, workflows, tools, and business processes so agents can securely execute tasks.
Trusted Governance provides data quality, lineage, policies, guardrails, and controls, while Trusted Security manages identity, permissions, privacy, data protection, and runtime security.
Meanwhile, Trusted Models allows businesses to connect and route work to different AI models based on factors such as accuracy, performance, cost, and business requirements.
Salesforce is also introducing a new AI Control Plane, giving organizations a centralized way to discover, register, manage, evaluate, monitor, and control agents and AI capabilities across Salesforce and third-party systems.
“AI is moving faster than any technology we’ve seen—which is exactly why composability matters so much to us,” said Shawn Malhotra, CTO of Rocket Mortgage.
The Enterprise AI Harness draws on technologies including Data 360, Informatica, MuleSoft, Agent Fabric, Tableau, Agentforce, Salesforce Guardian, and the Salesforce Platform.
Many of the technologies forming the foundation are already available, with new capabilities and the unified experience planned to begin rolling out in early fiscal FY28. Salesforce will announce further details on availability, packaging, pricing, and upgrade paths as general availability approaches.
