Rising P-pop group WRIVE teams up with singer and “It’s Showtime” host Cianne Dominguez for a fresh, contemporary rendition of the rap and hip-hop classic “Sumayaw Ka.”
Originally written and performed by Gloc-9, the song reflects on life’s challenges while encouraging listeners to keep moving forward and stay connected to their passion. WRIVE and Cianne’s new version was produced and arranged by Darren Cashwell and WRIVE member Russu.
The group had already introduced the track to audiences through live performances at various events, including its first anniversary celebration, “Unang Taon,” last July, and Star Magic’s All-Star Games at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
WRIVE also built anticipation for the release through a social media dance challenge, with several Kapamilya personalities joining in and putting their own spin on the track’s choreography.
The collaboration comes as WRIVE continues to make its mark in the P-pop scene. The group released its self-titled debut album last January, which has surpassed 700,000 Spotify streams and features tracks including “Ooh La La,” “Senorita,” and “Panaginip Na Lang.”
