Cinema One is putting the spotlight on the best of Philippine cinema with “The Best Fest,” a month-long celebration featuring award-winning films, critically acclaimed dramas, blockbuster favorites, and timeless classics that have captivated Filipino audiences through the years.

The celebration honors the country’s rich cinematic heritage through several themed programming blocks, offering viewers a chance to revisit beloved stories and discover acclaimed works from some of the Philippines’ most respected filmmakers.

Restored Classics Every Sunday

As part of the celebration, Restored Cinema brings four acclaimed Filipino films back to the screen in digitally restored and remastered formats. Airing every Sunday at 10 PM, the lineup includes:

  • “Hindi Nahahati Ang Langit” – September 6
    Directed by Mike de Leon, the film follows Noel (Christopher De Leon) and Melody (Lorna Tolentino), step-siblings whose complicated relationship takes an unexpected turn when they reunite as business partners years after their childhood rivalry.
  • “Moral” – September 13
    Marilou Diaz-Abaya’s acclaimed film follows four friends as they navigate love, family, careers, relationships, and independence while confronting the expectations placed on women in society.

Cinema One continues the celebration with Top-Tier Dramas, featuring films that have become part of the country’s cinematic legacy. The lineup includes “The Mistress” on September 7, “Dekada 70” on September 8, “Madrasta” on September 9, “Separada” on September 10, and “One More Try” on September 11.

These films air Monday to Thursday at 7 PM and Friday at 8 PM.

Rounding out the month is Blockbuster Sundays, featuring beloved Kapamilya stars in crowd-pleasing stories of love, friendship, family, and unforgettable moments.
