FWD Life Insurance (FWD Philippines) has emerged as the top life insurer in the country in terms of new business annual premium equivalent (NBAPE) on a singleton basis, according to the Insurance Commission’s (IC) Q1 2026 Report.
The company recorded a total NBAPE of ₱2.67 billion in the first quarter of 2026, representing a 4.9% increase compared to the same period last year. This performance boosted FWD Philippines’ market share to 12.4% as of Q1 2026.
In addition to securing the top spot in NBAPE, FWD Philippines also maintained its number one position in single premium and climbed to second place in total premium, reflecting sustained momentum across key business segments.
“Our growth is a reflection of increasing trust from Filipino customers choosing to have us protect their futures,” said Soon Liang Lau, President and CEO of FWD Life Insurance Philippines. “Being number one is a milestone, but our priority remains unchanged: helping Filipinos protect what matters most.”
FWD entered the Philippine market in 2014, ranking 30th during its first year of operations. Since then, the company has focused on making insurance simpler, more relevant, and easier to understand for Filipino families by offering customer-led solutions and expanding access to protection through its agency force, bancassurance partnership with Security Bank, and digital channels.
“From number 30 in 2014 to number one in 2026, our journey has always been about making insurance more accessible and meaningful,” Lau added. “We will continue to focus on supporting our customers, so they can face uncertainty with greater confidence.”
Since beginning operations in the Philippines in 2014, FWD has remained committed to changing the way people feel about insurance. In just over a decade, it has grown into one of the country’s leading insurers, recognized for its strength in investment-linked products and consistently ranking among the industry’s top players in both new business annual premium and total premium.
The company’s latest achievement underscores the trust that Filipino families continue to place in FWD as it works to empower more people to move forward with confidence and protect what matters most.
