Renowned fashion photographer Steven Meisel brings his signature visual language to the Winter Spring 2026 campaign of Alaïa, continuing the Maison’s long-standing tradition of collaborating with some of the most influential image-makers in the industry.
This legacy, originally established by Azzedine Alaïa and carried forward today by creative director Pieter Mulier, finds new expression through Meisel’s lens—where nostalgia meets enduring modernity.
A Study in Simplicity and Form
Echoing the philosophy of the collection, the campaign embraces a reduced, sculptural, and powerful visual approach. Defined by its stark simplicity and frontal composition, the imagery strips away distraction—leaving only form, texture, and presence.
There is no excess, no visual noise—only a focused exploration of beauty. The purity of the setting, absence of ornamentation, and deliberate repetition of composition place both the body and garment at the center. This radical reduction becomes a pathway to timelessness.
Each image reads almost like a tableau, where the human form is treated as sculpture. In this evolution, Alaïa’s longstanding sculptural identity shifts toward the statuesque—transforming models into living forms that embody the essence of the Maison.
A New Generation of Faces
The campaign’s casting reflects the same uncompromising vision. Featuring rising talents including Vanessa Becker, Noor Khan, Iasmin Silva, Jiahui Zhang, and Danielle Currie, the series captures a diverse and contemporary generation of beauty—mirroring Alaïa’s evolving identity.
Extending the Atmosphere Through Sound
The campaign’s visual narrative is complemented by a soundtrack created by Gustave Rudman, originally developed for the Winter Spring 2026 show. This sonic continuity extends the campaign into motion, reinforcing its atmosphere and rhythm across film.
Beyond Campaign, Toward Image-Making
More than a traditional fashion campaign, this series stands as an exercise in image-making—crafted with intention and artistry. These are not images rooted in reality, but in aspiration. They are designed to endure, to be remembered, and to invite dreaming.
A moment in fashion defined not by trend, but by timelessness—true to both Meisel’s enduring body of work and the spirit of Alaïa.
