As the temperatures rise, you may be tempted to reach for that cold white wine or beer, but don’t forget whisky can make the perfect summer refreshment also. Whether kicking back in the sun at the end of a long day or after-work digital party, whisky should be your go-to spirit.

Monkey Shoulder 3 Booze Up this Summer with Monkey Shoulder

Monkey Shoulder is a blended Scotch that’s a fan favorite. And in case you were wondering, it’s not meant for monkeys’ consumption (though we’d assume they’d like it as much as we do). The Scottish malt whisky brand doesn’t take itself too seriously and has been successful in bringing Scotch whisky to a younger generation of drinkers. Unlike many whisky brands, which are made to be drunk straight or on the rocks, Monkey Shoulder was designed as a mixing spirit. It’s the first 100 percent malt whisky made for mixing so rest assure that you’re in for some real fun with zero compromises on quality and taste.

As the saying goes, you can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep. Spirits are no different. Luckily, Monkey Shoulder is made by William Grant & Sons who’s behind some of the biggest names in liquor. To set you up for this moment, the whisky brand launches its latest campaign, Summertime Drinks but #makeitmonkey, as the perfect antidote to summertime sadness.

Here to mix up summertime as we know it, merrymakers are encouraged to liberate themselves and unwind from the grind with the new limited-edition Monkey Shoulder Summertime Packs. It contains all the essentials you need to whip up summer coolers for you to mix at home to beat the heat. From hump-day to Fri-yay, good times are guaranteed every day of the week this summer season with the cheekiest brand in the world of whisky.

Try stirring up Monkey Shoulder in cocktails like the Monkey Colada. All you’ll need is a 40ml Monkey Shoulder, 20ml Koko Kanu (Coconut Rum), 60ml Coconut Water, 10ml Fresh Lime Juice, 2 Fresh cut pineapple rings, and a dash of sugar syrup. To mix, add all ingredients to a blender, blend till smooth and add a dash of sugar syrup to taste. Pour into your favorite glass and garnish it with a pineapple leaf and pineapple chunk.

If you’re after a refreshing summer drink that tickles your taste buds, try your hand at a Ginger Monkey! You’ll need 50ml Monkey Shoulder, 120ml Ginger Ale, and 1 Orange wedge. Flex your bartending skills by filling a long glass with ice and adding Monkey Shoulder and Ginger Ale. Then, simply garnish with the orange wedge.
