Montblanc’s latest global campaign titled What Moves You, Makes You stars Chinese singer-actor-writer Chen Kun as he is introduced as a Mark Maker, a passionate doer who pursues what they love and expresses their full potential in their terms.

The integrated campaign brings to life the authentic, real stories and unique perspectives of these Mark Makers through a series of 60-second films, print, digital, out-of-home, and social content that personify the idea of “what moves you, makes you.” In particular, each film behind the façade of fame is a glimpse of what makes these individuals do what they do, what motivates them to keep doing it, and what has moved them to become who they are today.

In the campaign, Chen Kun is seen wearing Montblanc’s latest masterpiece which is the 1858 series Geosphere world time watch. Inspired by the explorations of legendary mountaineer Reinhold Messner, the new Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Limited Edition pays tribute to Messner’s five-week solo trek across the Gobi desert in 2004.

The case back unveils a unique engraving that shows the Gobi Desert’s famous Flaming Cliffs, also known as Bayanzag, that were on Messner’s route across Northern Asia. Made of titanium, the decoration is engraved and polished by laser. The vivid colors are created with laser-generated oxidation, with the level oxidation determining the final color obtained (and desired). Montblanc is one of the few Maisons making using this technology on such a large surface.
