Due to overwhelming demand, multi-awarded and platinum-selling Irish band The Script has announced a third and final Manila concert for its highly anticipated Man in the Arena Tour.
The newly added show is scheduled for March 20, 2027 (Saturday) at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, following the sell-out success of the band’s first two concerts on March 18 and 19, 2027.
Presented by Wilbros Live and Midas Promotions, tickets for the third show will go on sale on Saturday, June 13, at 10:00 a.m. via SM Tickets and SM Tickets outlets nationwide.
Danny O’Donoghue Reconnects with Filipino Fans
The announcement comes after frontman Danny O’Donoghue’s recent visit to Manila, where he personally promoted the upcoming tour and reconnected with the band’s loyal Filipino fanbase.
During his stay, O’Donoghue filmed a special performance video for the band’s iconic hit “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” on the streets of Manila, recreating the spirit of one of The Script’s most beloved songs in the heart of the city.
A Tour Filled with Greatest Hits and New Music
The Man in the Arena Tour will feature fan favorites, including:
- “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”
- “Hall of Fame”
- “Breakeven”
- “Superheroes”
- “For The First Time”
- “If You Could See Me Now”
The tour will also showcase songs from The Script’s upcoming album, The User’s Guide to Being Human, set for release on August 14, 2026.
The new record follows 2024’s Satellites, an album that saw O’Donoghue process the grief brought about by the passing of bandmate and friend Mark Sheehan in 2023. The subsequent global arena tour served as a heartfelt tribute to the late guitarist.
Inspired by Theodore Roosevelt’s Famous Speech
The title track, “Man in the Arena,” embodies the band’s signature arena-ready sound, combining a hard-hitting R&B groove with a soaring chorus.
According to O’Donoghue, the song draws inspiration from a famous speech by former U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt.
“He talks about how honours don’t belong to the critics. They don’t belong to the people sitting on the couch, laughing at the person in the ring stumbling and falling around. The honours belong to the one who gets in there and whose face is marred with dust and blood,” O’Donoghue shared.
“I remember reading it and being like: that needs to be in a tune, the energy in it is beautiful.”
With three shows now scheduled in Manila, The Script’s return to the Philippines further highlights the band’s enduring popularity among Filipino fans and sets the stage for one of the country’s biggest concert events in 2027.
