As automation and artificial intelligence continue to reshape customer experience work, companies across the IT and digital customer experience industry are rethinking how they prepare employees for the future. This shift is being driven by a strong focus on continuous learning and leadership development—areas where women are playing an increasingly vital role.
At TELUS Digital Philippines, women make up 54% of the workforce, with half of managerial to executive roles held by women. The company sees empowering women as closely tied to preparing employees for the evolving demands of the digital economy.
“Technology is transforming the way our industry operates, but people remain at the center of that transformation,” said Anne Muñoz, Country Vice-President of TELUS Digital Philippines. She emphasized that providing women with access to continuous learning and leadership opportunities enables them to grow alongside the changing workplace and contribute to shaping the future of the industry.
As roles evolve with emerging technologies, workforce development has become a priority. TELUS Digital Philippines supports employee growth through TELUS Digital University (TDU), a platform offering courses and development programs designed for long-term career advancement. Women have shown strong engagement in these initiatives, accounting for 58% of participants in 2025, increasing to 59% as of February 2026. Internal data also shows that female participants had a 243% repeat enrollment rate in 2025, indicating active participation in multiple learning programs within the year.
Employees have expressed strong interest in developing skills in communication and customer experience, leadership and people management, and digital and analytical capabilities such as data analytics, automation, AI fundamentals, and productivity tools. According to Muñoz, fostering these skills ensures that teams remain equipped to thrive in an increasingly connected and rapidly evolving digital environment.
Alongside skills development, TELUS Digital Philippines is also focused on strengthening pathways to leadership. The company maintains strong gender parity across leadership roles, with equal representation at the executive level, a slight female majority at the director level, and balanced representation among managers. To further support leadership readiness, targeted programs help women build executive presence and confidence as they advance in their careers.
One such initiative is a leadership development program designed specifically for women, delivered in partnership with the University of Asia and the Pacific Continuing Real-World Education (UA&P CORE) under the company’s women’s network, Connections. The program focuses on enhancing executive presence, personal branding, and professional confidence in senior leadership environments.
Muñoz highlighted that leadership development plays a key role in building a resilient and future-ready workforce, noting that investing in women through mentorship and leadership opportunities strengthens the pipeline of future leaders and brings diverse perspectives into decision-making.
Workforce development at TELUS Digital Philippines is structured around three core learning tracks: communication and customer mastery, leadership and people management, and digital and analytical capability development. These tracks are designed to support long-term career mobility, including promotion readiness and cross-functional growth, while ensuring employees develop skills that remain relevant as the industry continues to evolve.
For TELUS Digital Philippines, Women’s Month serves as a reminder that empowering women goes beyond representation. It is about creating meaningful opportunities for learning, leadership, and career growth—ensuring that women are not only prepared for the future of work, but are actively shaping it.
