Swiftpay has announced that Billease is now available as a buy now, pay later (BNPL) option through its online checkout, giving shoppers more flexibility when making higher-value purchases.

Merchants already accepting payments through Swiftpay can enable Billease through their existing setup, without requiring a separate integration or additional system. Once activated, Billease appears alongside other payment options at checkout, allowing eligible customers to pay for purchases in installments.

The partnership also gives Billease’s more than 10 million users access to installment payments at online merchants within the Swiftpay network using their existing accounts.

The integration addresses a common challenge among Philippine e-commerce merchants. While shoppers may be more willing to purchase higher-ticket products when payments can be spread over time, businesses often hesitate to add BNPL because of additional integrations, credentials, settlement processes, and reconciliation requirements. With Billease integrated into Swiftpay, payment acceptance, settlement, and reporting remain within the merchant’s existing workflow.

Customers can choose repayment periods of 6, 9, 12, 18, or 24 months, with interest calculated based on the declining principal balance. The cost of credit is disclosed upfront, while customers who pay their balance early can reduce the amount of interest paid.

“Merchants lose the sale when a customer wants the product but not the full price today,” said Kurt Molina, Head of POS Product at Billease. He added that the integration allows merchants to offer installment payments without having to build or manage their own credit infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Damian Gil, Chief Revenue Officer at Swiftpay, said the partnership helps merchants reach more customers without taking on underwriting or credit risk.

Swiftpay is the enterprise payments arm of Swift Technology Ventures Inc., a BSP-regulated Operator of Payment System (OPS), while Billease is operated by First Digital Finance Corporation.

Merchants can enable Billease through their Swiftpay account representative or by visiting Swiftpay.
