The Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) — Asia’s first international convention center and a declared National Cultural Treasure — has officially reopened following an extensive renovation that honors its iconic Brutalist architecture while integrating cutting-edge features for today’s global events. The revitalized complex strengthens PICC’s position as a premier venue in the MICE industry as it prepares to host the ASEAN Summit and mark its 50th anniversary in 2026.
Under the leadership of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor and PICC Chairman Eli M. Remolona Jr. and PICC General Manager Nicolette Ann P. Cruz, the renovation brings a renewed sense of prestige across its buildings and halls. The Delegation Building now features a restored 1976 front lawn and a streamlined entrance designed for improved circulation. Inside, the Main Lobby welcomes guests with the full brilliance of its 3,068 restored droplights, hand-painted ceilings finished with metallic powder, refinished marble flooring, and laser-cleaned concrete walls. Adjacent to the lobby, the Delegation Lounge has been updated with refined interiors, enhanced privacy, and discreet security features. The building’s third and fourth floors now house refreshed meeting rooms equipped with LED screens, while the fifth-floor offices showcase modern layouts and furnishings.

The Secretariat Building also received a comprehensive upgrade, including a refreshed lobby, laser-cleaned staircases, enhanced meeting rooms with LED walls, and improved banquet and dining spaces. The Plenary and Reception Halls now feature giant LED screens, advanced audio systems, dimmable lighting, updated woodwork, and over 6,000 polished globule chandeliers that restore their original splendor. Outdoors, the Courtyard has been revitalized with restored ponds, revived pebble wash flooring, relocated APEC sculptures, new infinity waterfalls, and contemporary landscape lighting.

Across the complex, visitors will find new brass signage, improved wayfinding, high-speed Wi-Fi, and art pieces from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas collection displayed with specialized lighting. PICC is now fully operational and open for conferences, cultural events, graduations, and milestone celebrations.
