In celebration of World Mental Health Day 2026, #MentalHealthPH, in partnership with Y-Space at Yuchengco Museum, is bringing Filipinos together through “You Are Home: Creating Safe Spaces for Every Story,” a campaign running from October 9 to 11 that encourages self-expression, meaningful connections, and open conversations about mental health.
Aligned with this year’s global theme, “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change,” the initiative explores how familiar spaces and supportive communities can help people feel safe enough to share their stories and be heard without judgment.
An Immersive Experience Inspired By Home
Opening on October 9 at 6:30 PM, the You Are Home exhibit transforms four familiar areas into interactive spaces for reflection and connection. The bedroom represents restful reflection, the dining area celebrates supportive conversations, the living room encourages genuine connection and healing, and the bathroom symbolizes releasing burdens and embracing renewal.
Visitors are invited to pause, share personal experiences, and leave messages of hope for others to discover. Developed in partnership with IKEA, the exhibit features its furniture and design elements to create a familiar home setting while encouraging visitors to reflect on what makes an environment feel psychologically safe.
On October 10, from 10 AM to 2 PM, “Living Literatures” will offer an intimate storytelling experience inspired by the Human Library concept. Participants can engage in one-on-one or small-group conversations with individuals who serve as “human books,” sharing lived experiences to foster understanding and empathy. Filipino mental health advocates and artists, including Riyan Portuguez, also known as Your Millennial Psychologist, and Kuya Kim Atienza, will participate alongside other advocates. Registration is available at .
Sharing Hope Through Stories And Music
On October 11, the campaign will culminate in “Living Voices,” a one-day community choir experience led by Sanghimig Performing Arts. Through singing and shared expression, the gathering celebrates the idea that every voice—including those of persons with lived experiences of mental health conditions—is welcome. Though people may have different stories, the initiative emphasizes how they can come together in harmony.
The campaign will also introduce “Notes of Hope,” an online platform accessible through QR codes placed throughout the exhibit. Visitors can submit anonymous letters of encouragement through , with messages randomly shared among users to create an ongoing exchange of compassion and support beyond the physical installation.
Founded in 2016, #MentalHealthPH continues to advance mental health awareness, education, and advocacy across communities. Its collaborations include work with the National Center for Mental Health on a directory of mental health facilities and services in the Philippines, as well as partnerships with the Philippine Science High School System and the Philippine Science High School National Alumni Association to promote mental health in schools. The organization was also recognized by USTV+ with a Media Excellence Award in Psychological Awareness and Advocacy for its use of digital media to build awareness.
Through You Are Home, #MentalHealthPH invites Filipinos to rethink what a psychologically safe home can look and feel like—one where people can share their stories, find understanding, and be fully themselves.
