OPM hitmaker Maki continues to expand his presence on the international music scene, recently joining British singer-songwriter Rex Orange County onstage and performing at Lalala Fest Manila.
Maki made a special appearance during Rex Orange County’s one-night Manila concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on August 20, performing fan-favorite songs including “Dilaw,” “Saan?” and “kahel na langit.”
Reflecting on the milestone, Maki shared how surreal it was to perform alongside an artist whose songs he once covered.
“Totoo pala ’no, dreams do come true. Parang dati lang, nagco-cover ako ng mga Rex Orange County songs. Tapos now I’m sharing the same stage with them. We’ve come a long way, OPM,” Maki said.
The following day, August 21, Maki joined the lineup of Lalala Fest Manila, sharing the stage with international acts such as Steve Lacy, FLO, Two Door Cinema Club, and Matthew Ifield, as well as Filipino artists Ben&Ben, Over October, Dilaw, and fitterkarma.
He also surprised festivalgoers with a special appearance by James Reid, with the duo performing their collaboration “luck” live for the first time.
The back-to-back appearances come as Maki continues to bring his music to wider audiences following his recent international activities and Southeast Asian tour.
