FWD Life Insurance, in partnership with Junior Achievement (JA) of the Philippines, has launched the third year of its flagship financial literacy program, JA SparktheDream, reaching 39 schools nationwide. The program kicked off with a face-to-face session at Pembo Elementary School in Makati City, where over 200 grade six students were mentored by FWD volunteers through engaging, activity-based learning.
As part of its ESG strategy, FWD strengthens its commitment to financial inclusion by equipping students with essential skills and habits that foster lifelong financial confidence. From 2022 to 2024, JA SparktheDream has reached over 14,600 students in the Philippines, contributing to the FWD Group’s broader partnership with JA Asia Pacific, which has impacted more than 37,000 students across the region.
“Financial literacy must start early because financial empowerment is the foundation of a more inclusive and prosperous Philippines,” said Gavin Lai, FWD Chief Marketing & Digital Commerce Officer. Nol De Leon, FWD Chief Agency Officer, encouraged students to pursue their dreams with focus, discipline, and the right mindset, highlighting financial literacy as key to achieving aspirations.
Judith Baliton, FWD Chief Life Operations Officer, emphasized the importance of developing smart financial habits early, advising students to balance spending and saving to turn dreams into reality.
Through JA SparktheDream, students gain not only knowledge but also the confidence and skills to make empowered choices, enabling them to actively shape the lives they aspire to lead. FWD’s initiative is a bold step toward a financially inclusive and empowered Philippines, where every young Filipino is prepared to design a brighter future.
