Alibaba Cloud unveiled a range of new agent-native artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, open-source tools, and AI-powered devices during the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026, reinforcing its strategy to build a comprehensive AI ecosystem spanning infrastructure, platforms, and applications.
The announcements include the Agent-Native Cloud suite, new AI development tools, expanded open-source initiatives, and the company’s first AI-powered earbuds, all aimed at accelerating enterprise AI adoption.
New Agent-Native Cloud platform
Alibaba Cloud introduced three complementary products designed to simplify the development, deployment, and management of AI agents throughout their lifecycle.
The new offerings include:
- AgentRun, which manages AI agent development, deployment, and operations
- AgentLoop, which provides real-time monitoring, evaluation, and optimization of AI agent performance
- AgentTeams, which enables governance and coordination across multiple AI agents handling complex enterprise workflows
Together, the platforms provide organizations with tools to build and operate autonomous AI systems while maintaining governance and operational control.
Alibaba Cloud also launched TokenWorks, a new service integrated into its Platform for AI (PAI) through PAI-EAS.
The service combines request routing, inference execution, compute reuse, and scheduling into a unified system to improve inference performance, increase reliability, and lower operating costs for large AI models.
Qwen 3.8-Max-Preview debuts
The company also showcased Qwen 3.8-Max-Preview, its latest large language model available through its Token Plan, Qoder, and QoderWork platforms.
With 2.4 trillion parameters, Alibaba said the model delivers performance comparable to leading frontier AI systems. Initial benchmark tests reportedly ranked it second only to Fable 5.
Alibaba added that the open-weight version of Qwen 3.8-Max will be released in the future.
Expanding open-source AI development
Alibaba’s semiconductor subsidiary T-Head announced the open-source release of T-Head SAIL, an AI software stack designed to help developers maximize hardware performance.
The software supports multiple layers of AI development, including:
- Operating systems
- Software development kits (SDKs)
- Programming interfaces
- AI computing frameworks
To support developers, T-Head also launched a dedicated community platform providing documentation, drivers, debugging tools, SDKs, and performance optimization resources.
The software is optimized for Zhenwu AI chips, which have shipped more than 560,000 units as of April 2026, serving over 400 customers across more than 20 industries.
Meoo adds team collaboration features
Alibaba expanded its AI development platform Meoo with a new team version designed for enterprise collaboration.
The platform enables users to create websites, applications, and WeChat mini-programs using natural language instead of traditional coding.
New organizational features include:
- Centralized billing
- Credit allocation
- Team management
- Shared project assets
Integrated with Alibaba Cloud services, Meoo automatically manages frontend, backend, and database components while offering discounted off-peak token pricing.
AI enters wearable devices
Alibaba Cloud also expanded into AI hardware with the introduction of Qwen Clip, its first AI-powered earbuds built around the Qwen AI assistant.
The clip-on, open-ear earbuds support:
- Real-time language translation
- Meeting transcription
- Health monitoring
The device was co-developed with Bose to improve audio quality.
In addition, Alibaba unveiled upgraded agent glasses, which can access third-party AI agents and services. Future capabilities will include full-duplex voice interaction, eye tracking, and biometric sensing.
The announcements underscore Alibaba Cloud’s continued investment in building a full-stack AI ecosystem that combines silicon, cloud infrastructure, software platforms, developer tools, and consumer AI devices to support next-generation intelligent applications.
