OPM hitmaker Maki continues to expand his reach beyond the Philippines after joining the star-studded lineup of Lalala Fest Manila and making a special appearance at British singer-songwriter Rex Orange County’s Manila concert.
Maki shared the stage with Rex Orange County during his one-night exclusive show at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on August 20, performing fan-favorite tracks including “Dilaw,” “Saan?” and “Kahel Na Langit.”
Reflecting on the milestone, Maki shared how surreal it was to perform alongside an artist whose songs he once covered.
“Totoo pala ’no, dreams do come true. Parang dati lang, nagco-cover ako ng mga Rex Orange County songs. Tapos now I’m sharing the same stage with them. We’ve come a long way, OPM,” Maki said.
The following day, August 21, Maki joined Lalala Fest Manila, performing alongside international acts such as Steve Lacy, FLO, Two Door Cinema Club, and Matthew Ifield, as well as local artists Ben&Ben, Over October, Dilaw, and fitterkarma.
He also surprised festivalgoers with a special appearance by James Reid, joining him for a live performance of their collaboration “luck.” The performance gave fans their first opportunity to experience the new single live.
Maki’s back-to-back appearances highlight his growing presence on the international music scene, following his recent overseas activities and tour across Southeast Asia.
