P-Pop supergroup SB19 is turning its long-term goal of becoming a global music act into reality, making significant strides in Japan through major festival performances, music collaborations, and a landmark television appearance.

The group recently made its SUMMER SONIC 2026 debut, performing in both Osaka and Tokyo alongside renowned international and Japanese artists. The milestone gave SB19 an opportunity to showcase Filipino artistry to audiences in one of Asia’s most influential music markets.

For PABLO, performing at the festival was the fulfillment of a dream that once seemed distant. He shared that the group was grateful for the opportunity to introduce SB19’s diverse music to Japanese audiences and connect with fans through their energetic performances.

The Tokyo leg delivered one of the festival’s most talked-about moments when SB19 welcomed Japanese artist Kento Nakajima onstage for a performance of the viral hit “GENTO.” The collaboration created a memorable cross-cultural moment, further fueling anticipation for a possible official “GENTO” collaboration.

Nakajima also contributed new lyrics to the performance, sharing that while he felt pressure working on one of SB19’s important songs, the members encouraged him to stay true to himself.

SB19 Makes Japanese TV Debut

Beyond the festival stage, SB19 achieved another milestone with its live television debut in Japan on NTV’s DayDay on August 13.

According to JUSTIN, appearing on a major Japanese television program required a different level of preparation and coordination, but the group remained committed to presenting the SB19 that Filipino fans know and love.

During the program’s Dotti Dotti segment, the group performed its latest single “LAWLESS” in Japan for the first time, giving Japanese viewers a closer look at SB19’s evolving musical direction. The members also joined host Ryota Yamasato, popularly known as Yama-chan, in a lighthearted hammer-and-rock-paper-scissors-style game.

For SB19, these Japanese activities represent an important step in its growing international journey. JOSH described the group’s collaborations with Japanese artists, SUMMER SONIC appearance, and television debut as significant developments toward reaching audiences around the world.

KEN likewise expressed hope for more performances, television appearances, and features in Japanese publications, emphasizing that the group’s priority is to continue introducing its music and identity to Japanese audiences.

As SB19 expands its presence in Japan, the Japanese edition of “Wakas at Simula” is now available at major record stores and online retailers across the country through Sony Music Japan, giving Japanese fans another opportunity to discover the music of the Filipino supergroup.
