Jackery Philippines has donated portable power stations and solar panels to local government units (LGUs) in Sarangani to strengthen disaster response efforts following the recent earthquake that struck off Mindanao.
The donation was made in partnership with the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), the country’s primary private-sector coordinator for disaster risk reduction and management, to help restore critical access to electricity during rescue and recovery operations.
Supporting emergency response with portable power
Jackery provided a suite of portable power stations and solar panels to the LGUs of Malapatan and Glan, two municipalities affected by the recent disaster.
The equipment was formally turned over at the Malapatan Incident Command Post to key officials leading the Incident Command Systems during the magnitude 7.8 earthquake and the response to Typhoon Inday.
The portable power solutions are intended to support emergency operations centers, temporary medical facilities, rescue teams, and community charging stations, providing reliable electricity even when traditional power infrastructure is disrupted.

Access to electricity is often one of the biggest challenges following natural disasters, as damaged power lines can hinder communication, coordination, and emergency response.
Unlike conventional fuel-powered generators, Jackery’s portable power stations offer plug-and-play energy solutions that can be deployed quickly without fuel dependencies or complex logistics.
“Having power is very important for our rescue team so we can stay connected, especially during emergencies, so we are very thankful to Jackery and PDRF for this big donation. This will really help our team serve the people of Malapatan, Sarangani better,” said Mark Christopher Quiño, Incident Commander of the LGU of Malapatan.
