Four Finnish recruitment firms—Bondata, Silkkitie, Amiko, and Barona—are visiting the Philippines as part of the Friendship Week program to introduce Filipino professionals to life and work in Finland, while promoting ethical and transparent recruitment. The delegation aims to strengthen ties between the two countries and ensure reliable pathways for Filipinos seeking international careers.

During the week, the Finnish team will meet with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), International Organization for Migration (IOM), and other trusted recruitment agencies to discuss fair hiring practices, migrant worker support programs, and safe recruitment channels.

To provide direct access to these opportunities, a job fair will be held at Megatrade Hall, 5th Level, SM Megamall (Mega B), featuring openings in services, hospitality, and industrial roles such as welders and CNC machinists. Families can also visit Santa Claus at the Ground Level, Mega Fashion Hall, celebrating Finland’s heritage as the official home of Santa Claus. Registration is required via the DMW Job Fair Portal: https://jobfairportal.dmw.gov.ph.

“Barona has recruited global talents, including Filipinos, for more than 15 years with a focus on ethical and sustainable practices,” said Elina Santalahti, EVP Global Talent Solutions at Barona. With Finland expecting major workforce turnover by 2040, particularly in social, health, business, and industrial sectors, the country will need 1.37 million new workers, positioning the Philippines as a key talent source.

“Bondata focuses on long-term employment and comprehensive support, offering a safe and people-centered pathway to meaningful careers in Finland,” added Rebekka Kiljunen, Partnership Director at Bondata.

Finland’s labor system guarantees fair working conditions, equal pay, and full residency rights for international professionals. Authorities emphasize a strict no-placement-fee policy, ensuring transparency and protection for workers.
