PLDT and Smart recently partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD NCR) to support the “Sustainable LiveliTalks: Masterclass,” aimed at helping Filipinos grow sustainable income through digital entrepreneurship. A key component of DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program, the session highlighted PLDT and Smart’s award-winning eBizNovation program, which equips micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with practical knowledge on using social media and e-commerce to expand their businesses.

One highlight was Abbie Ricohermoso, owner of Josefina’s Homemade Food, who shared how she transformed her small family eatery into a thriving online business with support from PLDT, Smart, DTI, and TikTok Shop. Her success story inspired attendees like Belinda Formanes, a sari-sari store owner, to explore online selling.

To complement e-commerce lessons, PLDT and Smart also conducted a #BeCyberSmart session, teaching MSMEs to protect their businesses from online scams and cyber threats. Janred Mendoza, an electric transport service operator, emphasized the importance of vigilance and reporting suspicious activity.

Through these programs, PLDT and Smart continue their mission of digital inclusion, empowering entrepreneurs and helping build a digitally strong Philippines.
