Thailand-based Burmese pop star SamSam is ushering in a new chapter in his career with the release of his latest single, “Taste of You,” a cinematic and emotionally charged pop track that explores the complexities of a toxic yet irresistible relationship.

Marking his transition into English-language music, “Taste of You” showcases a darker and more mature side of the artist. The song delves into the emotional push-and-pull between two people trapped in a cycle of heartbreak, desire, pride, and dependency—unable to walk away despite the pain they cause each other.

A Cinematic Visual Experience

Accompanying the release is a visually striking music video that unfolds like a short film. Combining narrative storytelling, high-energy choreography, and dramatic performance sequences, the video amplifies the song’s emotional intensity while building toward an unexpected ending.

The project highlights SamSam’s continued artistic evolution, blending contemporary pop production with cinematic visuals designed to resonate with audiences beyond Southeast Asia.

From Myanmar Hitmaker to Regional Pop Star

Born Sittpainghtet and affectionately known to fans as SamSam, the singer first gained widespread recognition in Myanmar through hit songs such as “Thit Sar Shi Par Naw” and “Shwe Chay Chin.”

His rise accelerated following the release of his debut album Lights in 2019, which established him as one of Myanmar’s leading R&B and pop artists. His devoted fanbase, known as the “Lighters,” eventually earned him the nickname “Prince of Myanmar.”

Originally from Lashio and raised in Mandalay, SamSam began studying piano at the age of six before developing a passion for singing and live performance. His growing popularity led to his first international concert in Bangkok in 2020, marking the beginning of his expansion into regional and international markets.

With “Taste of You,” SamSam continues to broaden his reach, introducing his music to a wider global audience while staying true to the emotional storytelling that has defined his career.

“Taste of You” is now available on major digital streaming platforms worldwide.
