Under the flashing lights of Bridgetowne, Pasig, the rhythm of the streets found its champion. Izzy Johnson emerged victorious at the Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines National Finals, outlasting the country’s most elite street dancers in a high-stakes competition decided entirely by the roar of the crowd.

With this win, Izzy earns the prestigious title and the honor of representing the Philippines at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals in Zurich, Switzerland, this October 2026.

A Battle Decided by the People

Red Bull Dance Your Style breaks the traditional mold of dance competitions by removing the judging panel. Instead, the audience holds the power, voting for their favorite performers in real-time. This unique format forces dancers to master the art of connection, spontaneity, and crowd engagement.

As the DJ spun unpredictable tracks ranging from global hits to local beats, competitors had to adapt their movements instantly. Izzy’s victory was a testament to his musicality and his ability to turn the audience into his primary fuel.

“I felt that all my pressure was replaced by excitement. The crowd became my fuel. When I saw they were happy with my dancing, I felt like I had already won,” expressed Izzy. “It was so important that they understood my movements. Our artistry must touch their hearts.”

A Cultural Convergence of Style

The National Finals served as a vibrant map of Philippine street dance, showcasing diverse regional styles from across the archipelago:

  • Luzon (Manila): Champion Izzy Johnson brought a sharp, experimental edge, playing with textures and unpredictable freestyle choices.

  • Visayas (Cebu): Nemesis commanded the floor with explosive, grounded power and unfiltered intensity.

  • Mindanao (Davao): Doodsieroll showcased fluid musicality, weaving rhythm and movement into seamless, intentional combinations.

While their styles differed, the event highlighted a unified force of Filipino creativity, proving that while the dancers may come from islands apart, they move as one.

From Bridgetowne to Zurich

Izzy Johnson now joins champions from over 50 countries for the global showdown in Switzerland. For Izzy, the journey to the World Finals is a tribute to the local community that helped him find his freestyle voice.

“To represent the Philippines… is to represent the people,” Izzy shared. “I represent every Pinoy that helped me get to this moment.”
