Shangri-La Plaza is celebrating all dads and people who are like dads in their own ways during the month of June with a schedule of events that bring families together.

Kick off the month with a pre-Father’s Day art date with pops and get to know more about the beauty of fatherhood through a special Galerie Raphael art exhibit until June 13 at the Level I, Shaw Hallway.  Entitled A Salute to Fathers (Pagpugay sa Haligi ng Tahanan), this group show of sculptures and paintings highlight the hard work dads from all walks of life go through to give their families a good life. 

Capture beautiful memories with the man of the house and the rest of the family by checking out the unique Father’s Day installation at the Grand Atrium on June 5-19. Designed by La Belle Fete, the decor reflects the go-getter life of fathers. 

Is dad more of a car lover? Catch the Vintage Car (FORD GT40) Exhibit on  June 10 – 18 at Level 1, Main Wing.  Of the five initial GT40 prototypes, only three from the American automobile manufacturer remain today.

Manila Philharmonic at Shang Celebrate Dad this Father's Day at Shangri-La Plaza

Take dad to a special Independence Day celebration and have a better appreciation of Filipino culture at a showcase led by Philippine Maharlika Dance Artists Inc. on June 11 at the Grand Atrium. The group’s repertoire includes traditional dances from Cordillera and Muslim Mindanao traditions, as well as performances that revolve around Maria Clara and rural life in the Philippines. 

Get to explore the world and catch a flick or two with pa at the Cine Europa Philippines, happening on June 16-18 at the Red Carpet at the Shang. As the longest-running European film festival in the country, the festival offers rare world cinema wonders from countries like Latvia, Poland, and Sweden—and they’re all screening for free! 

On Father’s Day–that’s June 18, 6:30pm, let dad have some well-deserved R&R with another anticipated Live at the Shang! performance at the Grand Atrium, this time featuring the captivating music of the premier Manila Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) under the baton of Maestro Rodel Comenar. 

Then, reminisce childhood memories and build a new world together with pops at the new LEGO Certified Store that’s also opening on June 18 at L5 East Wing. Still can’t get enough bricks? Check out the life-size LEGO-fied Ferrari on display on June 19-30 at the Level I, Main Wing

Bring out more of dad’s fun side by heading back to the arcade with Game On, Dad! on June 23-25 at the East Atrium. For this, Shang puts together some of the iconic arcade games from different generations in one single destination. Explore and play the games of the 80s, and introduce the games of the current generation with premium arcade center Q Power Station and other home brands. 

Make time to sit down and have a good meal with pa and the entire family at the Shang this month. Fish & Co, a fave among families for its fresh seafood fare, rejoined Shang’s selection of dining destinations; while  Vietnamese resto Pho Hoa has recently opened their expansion, serving much-loved noodle soups and spring rolls.  Feel like trying up and coming brands in the local food scene instead? Take the family to the Masarap Ba? Food Fair on June 30-July 2 to delight in various flavors from some of the metro’s buzziest eats. 

Whether the man of the house is into the arts, shoes, cars, gaming, food, or unique experiences, the best way to show love this Father’s Day is to have a good time together. #ShangLovesDads indeed, with a roster of dining, shopping, art, and culture activities that dad and the entire brood will surely enjoy.
