PLINTRON, a multi-country Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator and digital communications company, won two major awards at the Asian Telecom Awards 2024 for its successful migration of active customers for a major MVNO client and its cloud service expansion in Latin America.

The migration process involved migrating a huge customer base in three countries for a major multi-country Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) mobile services operator for its European operations. The customers were migrated from their existing Mobile Network Operator to a new Mobile Network Operator in each country.

This shift was necessitated by the need for the MVNO client to stay competitive in the market and better meet customer demands amidst technological evolutions. This is expected to enable better network accessibility, availability, and reliability.

To ensure that there is no downtime during the migration process, PLINTRON has been heavily focused on meticulous planning and execution. The process started with network interconnect establishment for signalling, voice and data. It included timely execution of critical test cases and detailed testing to cover all possible scenarios ensuring there was no change in customer experience post-migration.

The implementation of these migration activities has been done remotely from the PLINTRON Network Operations Centre in India, involving various cross-functional teams from India and working at European off-peak hours to meet delivery timelines to the client. Their expertise resulted in a swift and successful completion of the migration within the planned period.

The successful migration has been recognised as the B2B Client Initiative of the Year – India in the awards program.

Meanwhile, the Plintron India delivery team worked on a project to extend Plintron’s Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator (MVNA) services to LATAM including Colombia and Chile that operates full and light MVNOs in a multi-country setting from a centralized cloud infrastructure.

The service expansion is a unique international cloud-based initiative incorporating multiple MNOs & MVNOs on a single cloud infrastructure, with the ability to tailor technical, operational or product requirements to local specific regulatory, legal and commercial compliance.

Chile-specific MNP integration was undertaken with a centralised MNP partner in the country to meet regulatory requirements. The ticketing process and IVR were also implemented as per Chilean regulatory norms. On the other hand, customer ID validation with third parties was done for Colombia to meet regulations and IMEI management specific to Colombian regulatory norms was also undertaken. PLINTRON has also complied with all other regulatory requirements, such as the ticketing process, legal interception, and IVR amongst others.

“This centralised MVNA hub provides a set of standard features and products that simplifies rollout strategies in a regional setting, facilitating faster and more cost-effective MVNO launches across Latin America,” the company said.

The success of this expansion brought recognition for PLINTRON as they won the Cloud Initiative of the Year – India.
