Ascott Limited Philippines laid out its most expansive local growth plan yet at its annual Mingle with Ascott gathering on February 26 at Centro De Turismo, Intramuros — announcing new properties in Makati, Cebu, Davao, and Siargao, alongside a major hotel rebrand in Ortigas.

The evening, themed “At the Confluence,” drew on the Philippines’ history as a crossroads of cultures. The venue itself nodded to this heritage, with décor inspired by porcelain salvaged from the San Diego, a 17th-century shipwreck, and live Baybayin calligraphy by artist Taipan Lucero.

New and Upcoming Properties

Somerset Valero Makati is already on soft opening, positioned within a kilometer of several major malls and a short drive from BGC and Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Joy~Nostalg Hotel and Suites in Ortigas, which began its transformation in January, will reopen in Q4 as Ascott Ortigas Manila, with refreshed rooms, public spaces, and dining.

In Cebu, two properties are in the pipeline. The 155-unit Somerset Gorordo Cebu is set to open in the second half of the year, offering studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and full residential facilities. The Oakwood IT Park Grand Gateway Cebu — a partnership with Grand Land under the Gaisano Grand Group — will be the first Oakwood outside Metro Manila and Ascott’s largest managed property in the country, featuring 400 rooms and MICE-focused event spaces.

Further south, Citadines Paragon Davao will mark Ascott’s entry into Mindanao. In Siargao, Balai Dajao by Preference Hotels — Ascott’s first project with the boutique brand — is set for a 2028 opening, with 60 suites and villas designed around local culture and luxury living.

Dining and Loyalty Perks

Ascott also refreshed its food and beverage roster across properties, from Scott’s at Ascott BGC to Alejo Restaurant and Bar at Citadines Roces Quezon City. Ascott Star Rewards members across all tiers now receive up to 20% off at F&B outlets nationwide, covering buffets, à la carte menus, and non-alcoholic beverages.
