Western Union and Philippine financial services provider JuanPay have entered into a new partnership aimed at making international money transfers more accessible through participating JuanPay locations nationwide.
The collaboration will give Filipinos another convenient way to send and receive money internationally through participating JuanPay outlets, alongside the everyday services already available at these locations. These include bill and loan payments, government transactions, pharmacy services, and other consumer services.
The partnership is particularly relevant to communities with strong connections to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), providing access to international remittance services through established local businesses that customers already know and use.
The initiative brings together Western Union’s global financial network covering more than 200 countries and territories with JuanPay’s nationwide non-bank financial services presence. An initial rollout is planned for approximately 1,400 priority locations from JuanPay’s wider network of around 2,000 company-owned and franchise-operated outlets, with plans to gradually expand the service across the network.
A subsidiary of ACM Group of Companies, JuanPay has built a presence in provincial communities and areas with strong OFW ties through a network supported by local Filipino entrepreneurs. The partnership allows JuanPay to broaden the financial services available through its outlets while giving Western Union another retail channel through established multi-service businesses.
The collaboration also strengthens Western Union’s existing physical and digital presence in the Philippines, following the October 2025 launch of its upgraded mobile app with dual send-and-request capabilities.
“Our vision for JuanPay has always been to bring essential financial services closer to Filipino communities,” said Rico Fernando M. Chico, Chairman of ACM Group of Companies. “Our collaboration with Western Union brings together global connectivity and JuanPay’s community-based approach to access. Ultimately, this is about making trusted financial services more accessible and convenient for every Juan.”
Atty. Rafael Angelo M. Padilla, President of ACM Business Solutions Inc., described the partnership as an important milestone for JuanPay’s goal of expanding financial access and providing technology-enabled services to Filipinos nationwide.
For Western Union, the partnership responds to the continued demand for flexible and convenient financial services, particularly among customers who prefer face-to-face assistance or have varying levels of digital connectivity.
“Multi-service locations that serve as one-stop shops for their financial services needs have a vital role to play,” said Vince Tallent, Senior Vice President and Head of APAC for Western Union. He added that the partnership combines JuanPay’s local reach with Western Union’s global presence to make international financial services more accessible to communities across the country.
Gregory Laurent, Western Union’s Regional Vice President for the Philippines, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Islands, emphasized the role of partnerships in creating more convenient ways for customers to access financial services.
“By collaborating with JuanPay, we’re creating new and more effective ways to serve customers, making international remittances more accessible, convenient and integrated into the platforms they already use every day,” Laurent said.
Through the partnership, Western Union and JuanPay aim to make international remittances easier to access while helping Filipinos stay connected with family and loved ones abroad.
