ManageEngine, a division of Zoho Corporation, has expanded its unified endpoint management and security (UEMS) platform, Endpoint Central, with new endpoint detection and response (EDR) and secure private access capabilities.
The enhancements strengthen endpoint security by enabling AI-powered threat detection, automated remediation, and Zero Trust access through device trust verification.
As organizations manage increasingly distributed workforces, endpoints have become both a critical operational hub and a primary attack surface. Many still rely on fragmented tools, creating security gaps, while attackers use AI-driven techniques to scale threats such as ransomware. The shift toward unified, AI-powered platforms aims to reduce complexity and improve endpoint resilience.
“Endpoint security has become a speed problem,” said Chirag Mehta, vice president and principal analyst at Constellation Research. “Bringing EDR together with device-trust-based access controls helps reduce attacker dwell time and impact.”

By integrating EDR and Secure Private Access, Endpoint Central unifies threat detection, response, and access control within a single platform. This allows IT and security teams to leverage shared endpoint intelligence, streamline investigations, and execute remediation such as patching and configuration updates from one console.
“With these capabilities, we’re helping organizations move from reactive security to autonomous resilience,” said Mathivanan Venkatachalam, vice president at ManageEngine.
Key capabilities include deep endpoint visibility, AI-driven threat detection, unified response and ransomware rollback, AI-guided investigations, and context-aware private access based on identity-aware policies.
Endpoint Central is available as an add-on, with a free trial accessible at: https://mnge.it/EDR.
Used by more than 31,000 organizations worldwide, Endpoint Central supports full endpoint lifecycle management across multiple platforms with integrated security, compliance, and performance insights.
