Synology has officially launched the PAS7700 in the Philippines, a high-performance, active-active all-flash NVMe storage system designed for organizations that require always-on operations and ultra-fast data access.

As Philippine enterprises accelerate digital transformation and adopt data-heavy technologies such as AI, analytics, and virtualization, storage infrastructure is increasingly seen as a critical foundation for business continuity rather than just a data repository. Companies are now prioritizing performance, scalability, and uninterrupted service delivery when evaluating enterprise systems.

Built on more than 25 years of Synology’s storage expertise, the PAS7700 reflects extensive collaboration with enterprise customers through real-world validation programs. According to Synology, the system is engineered to deliver high reliability and performance while helping reduce total cost of ownership.

The PAS7700 is designed for environments where storage performance directly impacts productivity, including industries such as manufacturing, semiconductor design, game development, healthcare, and engineering services. These sectors often run simultaneous workloads involving large files, virtual machines, and critical business applications, where slow storage can affect entire operations.

At its core, the PAS7700 features a dual-controller active-active architecture, enabling both controllers to operate simultaneously for higher resilience. If one component fails, services continue without interruption, significantly reducing downtime risks. The system supports multiple storage protocols, including NVMe-oF, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, SMB, and NFS, making it suitable for diverse enterprise environments.

Performance specifications include up to 2 million IOPS, sub-millisecond latency, and sequential throughput of up to 30 GB/s, supported by up to 2,048 GB of memory and 100GbE networking. The system can scale up to 1.65 PB of raw capacity with expansion units, allowing organizations to grow alongside increasing data demands.

To ensure reliability, the PAS7700 incorporates multiple protection layers such as triple-parity RAID, mirrored write cache protection, IP failover, and automated failover mechanisms. It also includes Continuous Availability Manager, which provides real-time visibility into system health for faster issue detection and response.

On the data protection side, the system supports Self-Encrypting Drives (SEDs), immutable snapshots, WORM folders, Snapshot Replication, and Hyper Backup. These features are designed to strengthen cybersecurity resilience and safeguard enterprise data against unauthorized access or corruption.

Synology also emphasizes storage efficiency. The PAS7700 includes deduplication technologies that reduce redundant data and improve SSD lifespan. Future support for Synology Tiering will further optimize storage by automatically shifting less frequently accessed data to high-capacity systems, freeing NVMe resources for active workloads.

Running on DSM Enterprise, Synology’s enterprise-grade operating system, the PAS7700 aims to balance high performance with simplified management for IT teams handling complex infrastructures.

According to Synology Philippines Country Manager Claire Huang, the system is designed to help enterprises maintain operational continuity while preparing for future growth, including AI-driven workloads and expanding digital ecosystems.

The Synology PAS7700 is now available globally through authorized partners and distributors, including in the Philippines.
