Sora, the bar at Rosewood Phnom Penh, has launched a new cocktail menu that takes its cue from an unexpected source: building bricks.
“Build & Sip” was developed by Jonas Vittur, Director of Bars at Rosewood Phnom Penh, alongside the Sora team. The concept treats cocktail-making the way an architect approaches construction — each drink begins with the foundation of a familiar classic before being layered with Japanese influences, Cambodian ingredients, and personal stories from the bar team. Visual details carry the theme through, with studded ice blocks, architectural glassware, and edible garnishes inspired by brick structures.
The menu spans 16 drinks in total — 14 alcoholic and 2 zero-proof — ranging from spirit-forward compositions to lighter, more approachable serves.

Three standouts illustrate the range. The Khmer Colada builds on a tropical base of white rum, pineapple, and coconut, then adds Cambodian curry spices, sansho pepper, and chili for warmth and depth. Cherry Lady Punch is a clarified milk punch combining cashew nut whiskey, spiced rum, almond liqueur, Cointreau, and sakura tea, finished with a dark chocolate garnish. The Nihon Gimlet — served in a ceramic tea cup — pairs Japanese gin with matcha and kaffir lime leaf for something crisp and quietly ceremonial.
The menu also leans into locally sourced Cambodian produce, extending the bar’s commitment to sustainability. Sora received the Ketel One Sustainable Bar Award at Asia’s 50 Best Bars in 2025, the same year it became the first Cambodian bar to appear on the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 51 to 100 list.
