Somerset Alabang Manila lit up the holiday season with its Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, unveiling a Mayon Volcano-inspired tree anchored on the element of Fire. This marks the culmination of a four-year creative journey exploring nature’s elements—from Air in 2022, Water in 2023, Earth in 2024, and now Fire, symbolizing connection, compassion, and community.

The property infused cultural storytelling and sustainability into every detail of the design, drawing inspiration from Mt. Mayon and the historic Cagsawa Ruins in Albay, Bicol. The centerpiece tree, replicating Mayon’s near-perfect cone, featured flowing fabric drapes that resemble streams of lava, symbolizing strength and renewal. Surrounding the main tree were smaller gold rattan trees handcrafted from repurposed materials, complemented by rattan ornaments, recycled décor, PET bottles, and cardboard. Elements across the lobby, including leaves from last year’s tree and creative uses of cardboard, scrap wood, and old metal, reinforced the theme of artistic reuse and sustainability.

The event also highlighted Somerset Alabang Manila’s commitment to the community through the “Soap for Hope” campaign with Diversey, which recycles hotel soap for donation or funding community programs. The evening celebrated property milestones, including the Ascott Cares Award, and teased exciting 2026 plans: an all-day dining restaurant, café, and event spaces on the 5th level.
Guests enjoyed a showcase of sustainable decorations, performances by the Philippine Institute for the Deaf choir and Alab Poi dancers, and a curated Bicolano-inspired food spread by Chef Jeffrey Reyes. The celebration was attended by the Department of Tourism’s Assistant Secretary Sharlene Batin, Filinvest City representatives, and The Ascott Limited Philippines executives.
