Filipino fans can look forward to more action and live entertainment as SM’s arena venues prepare to host some of the country’s biggest sports competitions and events in the coming months.
From collegiate basketball and international club competitions to celebrity matchups, SM continues to bring fans closer to the events they love through its growing portfolio of sports and entertainment venues.
The SM Mall of Asia Arena, one of the country’s premier destinations for live events, has hosted more than 2,400 shows since opening in 2012 and welcomed over 1.1 million attendees in 2025. Its calendar has included performances by global acts such as Taylor Swift, BTS, BLACKPINK, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, and Madonna, as well as major sporting events including the FIBA Basketball World Cup and FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship.
Among the upcoming events are the B. League Manila Games on September 9 to 10, featuring teams from Japan’s premier professional basketball league and Filipino players such as Dwight Ramos.
The UAAP Season 89 Opening follows on September 12, while the NCAA Season 102 Opening takes place on September 13, bringing back the intense collegiate basketball rivalries fans look forward to each year.
On September 26, Bida Sa Arena: The Rematch heads to the SM Seaside Cebu Arena, with celebrities Gerard Anderson and David Licauco leading opposing teams in another basketball showdown.
The East Asia Super League will also bring elite regional club basketball to the SM Seaside Cebu Arena on October 3, featuring professional teams from the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and other East Asian markets.
The excitement follows a strong showing of Filipino basketball fandom, with more than 34,000 fans attending Gilas Pilipinas’ FIBA World Cup Asia Qualifiers games at SM Mall of Asia Arena on August 28 and 30.
With major sporting competitions and entertainment events lined up, SM’s arena venues continue to offer Filipinos opportunities to experience the energy of live events and max out their experience.
