Trees are life, providing fruits, clean air, and protection from nature’s elements. Yet Philippine forests are at a critical point, covering only 23% of the country’s land area. In response, Signify, the global leader in lighting, translated its sustainability vision into local action with a tree-planting initiative in Sitio Maysawa, Barangay Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal on October 25, 2025.

Part of the expansive Sierra Madre mountain range, this area plays a vital role in shielding the Philippines from severe storms. To support its conservation, Signify Philippines employees traded office desks for shovels, planting 500 fruit-bearing seedlings in collaboration with Green Media Events Company and other participants. This hands-on activity offered employees a meaningful way to connect with nature while embodying Signify’s commitment to a low-carbon, sustainable future.
The initiative is part of Signify’s “Brighter Lives, Better World 2025” program, which aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By accelerating the shift to a circular economy, offering eco-friendly products, and reducing carbon footprints, Signify aims to double its positive environmental and social impact.

Beyond corporate responsibility, the tree-planting event reinforced the company’s philosophy that sustainability thrives through community involvement. Each seedling planted represents more than greenery—it symbolizes hope, resilience, and a tangible contribution to future generations.
Signify Philippines continues to champion environmental stewardship, turning small actions into lasting impact. With initiatives like this, the seedlings planted today will grow into a brighter, greener tomorrow.
