Shell Pilipinas Corporation, through its Shell Rimula brand, recently wrapped up its nationwide “Bida Ang Biyahe Ko!” (BABK) program, honoring Filipino truck drivers and mechanics for their vital role in the country’s transport and logistics industry. Running through October, the program visited key hubs in Davao, Cebu, La Union, Caloocan, and Laguna, engaging around 250 participants with skills challenges, technical learning sessions, and wellness activities.

As e-commerce continues to reshape the logistics sector, demand for skilled drivers and light commercial vehicles has surged. Shell Rimula’s initiative recognizes these everyday road heroes while emphasizing engine care and road safety. Participants were educated on vehicle maintenance, road signage, and physical and mental readiness to reduce accidents and maintain reliable fleets. Those completing Stages 1 and 2 of the program also qualified for TESDA NC I certification, supporting professional growth.

The program highlighted Shell Rimula’s Light Duty Oils (LD5), designed with Dynamic Protection Plus Technology to protect engines from wear, oxidation, and deposits—common in urban driving conditions. These products help ensure smoother, safer journeys, giving drivers confidence on the road. “Proper knowledge and periodic vehicle maintenance are vital to keep drivers safe every day,” said Bryan M. Landicho, TESDA Assessor, while road safety expert Ariel Del Rosario emphasized defensive driving practices.

Shell also integrated wellness support, offering free eye checkups and prescription glasses to address visual strain during long drives. By combining skill development, safety, and well-being, the program underscores Shell’s commitment to empowering drivers while keeping the roads safe.

Looking ahead, Shell plans to expand Bida Ang Biyahe Ko! to provinces such as Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, and Pampanga in 2026. “Through programs like this, we remain committed to promoting driver well-being and empowering Filipino motorists with recognition, skills, and reliable solutions,” said Meng Manapul Peret, Shell Rimula Brand Manager.
