SB19 marks a watershed moment in P-Pop with the release of “VISA”, their first official single of 2026 and the assertive follow-up to the Simula At Wakas era. The track delivers a confident and uncompromising artistic direction, tackling socially relevant themes that signal both a prologue and a promise: SB19 is ready to entertain while challenging conventions, provoking thought, and shaking up comfort for conviction.

An Anthem for Filipino Resilience and Frustration

“VISA” channels the lived realities of Filipinos striving to build stability and opportunity for their families, highlighting the frustrations of overseas Filipino workers, athletes, creatives, and professionals. The song confronts the invisible barriers that limit recognition and access, transforming personal and collective struggles into an anthem of awareness and resilience.

“This release will really define SB19’s sound, personality, and the way we present ourselves,” shares Stell. “We are addressing sensitive, current topics that people can relate to, even if not everyone agrees with us. This release is very powerful and a strong way to start the year and introduce this new era.”

Inspired by real-world visa challenges affecting Filipino talents, “VISA” also comments on disparities in access, mobility, and privilege.

“SB19 has been active for seven years, and we hope that songs like these can reach officials and encourage laws that make it easier for athletes, artists, and others working overseas to access visas,” explains Pablo. “This is not just music; it is a push for Filipino culture forward.”

Josh adds, “Athletes give so much for the Philippines, but it often feels like the country does not give back. There needs to be change.”

Justin emphasizes the message further: “We’ve significantly contributed to raising the morale of Filipinos abroad and positively impacted the economy. Yet, it often feels like we are at the end of the line.”

Unconventional Sound Reflecting a Bold Message

Musically, “VISA” mirrors its thematic tension with unconventional production, brassy instrumentation, and innovative sonic experimentation. Originating from a melody Pablo conceived during a brand campaign shoot, the track fuses satire, personal experience, and social commentary.

“This song is very unconventional and unorthodox,” says Ken. “The melody is impactful, the instruments are well chosen, and the percussions and ad-libs are perfectly placed, making it a very pleasing experience for the ears.”

SB19’s “VISA” is a powerful declaration of identity, resilience, and advocacy—an invitation to listen, reflect, and join the conversation on opportunities for Filipinos at home and abroad.

“VISA” is now available on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.
