LAS VEGAS — Samsung Electronics showcased its vision for the future of television during a Visual Display (VD) Deep Dive session at CES 2026, held at The Wynn Las Vegas. Led by SW Yong, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, the session highlighted how Samsung is building on two decades of global TV market leadership to redefine the role of television in an increasingly connected home.
As the TV industry enters a new phase shaped by premium demand, larger screen formats, and intelligent experiences, Samsung outlined its 2026 strategy focused on expanding TV capabilities through next-generation AI while maintaining exceptional picture quality. Micro RGB and OLED technologies are set to lead the premium segment, while mini LED will make high-end viewing more accessible to a broader audience. Ultra-large displays will further elevate immersion, bringing Samsung’s advanced screen technology into more homes and reinforcing its leadership in performance and innovation.

“We are currently experiencing a transformation in the way viewers enjoy the television experience, shifting from one centered on viewing to one based on direct interaction with users,” said Yong, emphasizing Samsung’s continued commitment to innovation grounded in hardware excellence.
At the core of this strategy is Vision AI Companion (VAC), a new intelligent platform integrated across nearly Samsung’s entire 2026 TV lineup. Designed to be intuitive, conversational, and personalized, VAC understands viewing behavior, anticipates user needs, and delivers contextual information directly onscreen—transforming the TV from a passive display into an active participant in everyday life. By embedding AI across its ecosystem, Samsung is also extending the TV’s role beyond entertainment into deeper smart home integration and more meaningful engagement.

Additional insights were shared by Hun Lee, EVP of VD Business, who discussed Samsung’s new Micro RGB 130-inch TV—an industry-first achievement—and the company’s continued focus on lifestyle-driven innovation. As Samsung marks 20 consecutive years as the world’s top TV brand, the VD Deep Dive underscored a clear message: leadership is earned through continuous innovation that combines scale, design, intelligence, and truly connected experiences.
