Royal Caribbean is opening new ways to explore Japan during cherry blossom season with its upcoming spring 2028 holidays aboard Voyager of the Seas. Sailing from late February through April 2028, the itineraries are designed to coincide with peak bloom periods in select destinations while showcasing Japan’s cultural landmarks, regional cuisine, coastal scenery, and neighboring South Korea.
Three Ways To Explore Japan And Beyond
The new season features three itinerary options. A 10-night open-jaw cruise from Hong Kong to Tokyo includes stops in Nagasaki and Kagoshima, an overnight stay in Kobe, and a visit to Osaka, giving travelers more time to explore the country’s history and celebrated food scene.
For those seeking a roundtrip journey, three 11- to 12-night cruises from Tokyo offer a mix of major cities, regional destinations, and island escapes. Depending on the itinerary, guests can discover Kumamoto’s castle heritage, Fukuoka’s food culture, Kagoshima’s volcanic landscapes, Mount Fuji views from Shimizu, and Okinawa’s tropical scenery. Select sailings also visit South Korea, including Jeju and Busan.
Meanwhile, a 16-night Pacific crossing from Tokyo to Seattle takes guests to Sapporo (Muroran), where an overnight stay allows more time to experience Hokkaido’s coastal landscapes and local flavors, before several days at sea and arrival in the United States.
Adventures Beyond The Shore
Between destinations, Voyager of the Seas offers activities for different ages and interests. Guests can ride the FlowRider surf simulator, race down The Perfect Storm waterslides, climb the rock wall, or go ice-skating at Studio B. Families can also enjoy mini-golf and glow-in-the-dark laser tag, while younger guests have dedicated spaces and activities.
Dining options range from Italian favorites at Giovanni’s Table and steaks at Chops Grille to Japanese-inspired dishes at Izumi, alongside casual choices at Windjammer and Café Promenade.
The spring 2028 sailings form part of Royal Caribbean’s broader 2027–2028 Asia-Pacific season, which includes two- to 16-night holidays departing from Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
