Robinsons Ilocos proudly serves as the official venue partner of the first-ever Philippine Handloom Weaving Festival (PHWF), the nation’s premiere celebration dedicated to preserving and advancing Filipino handloom weaving traditions. The festival brings together over 120 weavers from more than 40 weaving communities, alongside designers, researchers, and textile advocates, for a dynamic showcase of the country’s rich textile heritage.

As part of the 2025 National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (NSTW), the festival is organized by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST–PTRI) in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Norte Tourism, Cebu Pacific Air, the Local Government of Taguig, and Robinsons Ilocos. The four-day celebration features a range of events designed to foster knowledge-sharing, strengthen weaving communities, and highlight the role of science and technology in the evolution of traditional textiles.

Festival highlights include the Hinabi Textile Bazaar, a vibrant marketplace of locally woven fabrics and handmade products. Attendees can also participate in Textile Exchange & Fora, where weavers, designers, and researchers discuss trends, techniques, and innovations in Philippine weaving. Hands-on learning comes to life at the Techno Demo Weaving Workshop, while the Philippine Ikat Symposium provides a platform for dialogue on the challenges faced by Ikat communities. The KatHABI Exhibit completes the festival with a curated display of textile innovations and design collaborations.
