Rakuten Viki, the global streaming platform for Asian entertainment, is expanding its premium Chinese drama catalog through its partnership with MangoTV, bringing the highly anticipated romance series Love for You to viewers worldwide.
The new drama combines romance, family relationships, and mystery, offering audiences a story that explores first love, second chances, and long-buried secrets against the backdrop of a decades-old criminal case.
Even before its premiere, Love for You generated strong buzz among Chinese drama fans, thanks in part to its adaptation of the popular web novel Wild Dog Bones (Ye Gou Gu Tou) and the first on-screen pairing of two of China’s most sought-after young stars—Song Weilong and Zhang Jingyi.
Song Weilong is known for his performances in Shine on Me and Go Ahead, while Zhang Jingyi has earned acclaim for starring roles in Lighter & Princess and Blossoms in Adversity. Song recently received the People’s Choice Award at the Global OTT Awards in Busan for his performance in Shine on Me, further cementing his status as one of China’s leading actors.
A story of love, family, and redemption
Based on the bestselling novel by Xiu Tu Cheng, Love for You follows the lives of Chen Yi and Miao Jing, whose families become connected during the 1990s.
What begins with tension and misunderstanding gradually develops into unexpected affection, only to be interrupted by tragedy and years of separation. When the two reunite in their hometown years later, unresolved emotions resurface alongside hidden family secrets and an unsolved criminal case that has haunted their community for decades.

The drama is directed by veteran filmmaker Liu Junjie, whose previous romance hits include Boss & Me, My Sunshine, and Lighter & Princess.
